Slits & Collimators The D-Pace slits & collimators may possess independently adjustable water-cooled graphite beam blockers that are located above, below, left and right of the beamline centerline, or they may be fixed in position. For both adjustable and fixed cases, either a single (ring), double (left/right) or quadruple (left/right/top/bottom) beam current readback is provided. D-Pace slits & collimators are used for general tuning and for beam pipe protection (via blocking, beam current monitoring, and interlocking). These devices are compact in the direction of beam travel, therefore, they are short enough to be located almost anywhere along a beamline.
