D-Pace Supports Innovation and Education with Major Equipment Donation to Selkirk College

D-Pace is proud to announce its recent donation of ion source equipment to Selkirk College in support of their newly established Selkirk Ion-source Research Centre (SIRC). This contribution marks a significant milestone in our ongoing partnership with the college and reflects our shared commitment to advancing innovation, education, and community development in rural British Columbia.
As a company rooted in Nelson and operating globally in the particle accelerator industry, D-Pace believes strongly in giving back to the community that has supported our growth. By equipping Selkirk College with world-class technology, we’re helping to create hands-on learning opportunities for students and fostering interest in a high-demand field like particle acceleration with both local and international relevance.
This collaboration exemplifies how industry and education can work together to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. We’re honored to support Selkirk College’s mission and proud to be part of building a regional culture of curiosity, resourcefulness, and economic diversification.
“We are incredibly grateful to our long-standing partner D-Pace for helping to kick-start our vision for the Selkirk Ion-source Research Centre,” said Dr. Terri MacDonald, Director of Applied Research and Innovation at Selkirk College. “This donation has enabled the college to apply for several complementary grants—under the leadership of Dr. Morgan Dehnel, SIRC chair—including funding for research and the hiring of vocational, undergraduate and graduate student interns. This game-changing partnership empowers students to engage in cutting-edge scientific research right here in rural BC.”
We look forward to continuing this journey with Selkirk College and invite others to join us in supporting educational initiatives that shape the future of science and technology.
