Fred leads the engineering team and oversees the design, development, and commissioning of high-performance ion source systems, while advancing D-PACE’s technical capabilities and long-term product strategy. With over 15 years of experience in accelerator technologies and precision engineering, Fred has contributed to a wide range of projects from building cyclotrons, to ultra-high-precision robotic systems, and delivering turnkey ion source solutions. Fred holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Nottingham and is very much an engineering generalist with a tendency towards electro-mechanical systems. Outside of work, Fred is an avid mountain biker, hiker, and skier, and enjoys spending time with his family.
